What an absolutely stunning boudoir session this was! Miss S requested all her images in black and white, which worked so perfectly. 

Prior to shooting each session, I send my clients a comprehensive questionnaire to learn more about them, and what they want out of their boudoir photos. This helps me so much with preparation of each shoot, and ensures that we are both on the same wavelength when working through the session. 

Once the session is finished and the gallery has been edited and send to the client, I absolutely LOVE receiving happy feedback when the client views the gallery for the first time. It really is one of the best things about my job!

This couples boudoir session was STEAMY! I hardly had to direct these two lovers much at all - they definitely brought the heat to this session all on their own. 

Couples boudoir is definitely a favourite of mine. Although males tend to be less enthused than females, most are happy to just go with it, knowing they will come away with some AMAZING images to celebrate their partnership. 

The best thing is, my couples boudoir sessions come with absolutely no additional cost. What a perfect way to celebrate an anniversary or special occasion!

Natasha | Brisbane boudoir photographer

This is the second time I've shot beautiful Natasha, a fellow photographer in my local area. I got serious tattoo envy after seeing her new pieces and I'll definitely be getting more myself soon! I absolutely love showing off body art in my boudoir photos, especially when they're new and/or meaningful. 

Natasha brought so many stunning pieces of lingerie to her session, and I think red is 100% her colour! I don't tend to have a requirement for a certain number of lingerie pieces for your boudoir shoots, but I do recommend at least two different sets for variety in your photos. These sets definitely don't have to be expensive either! And if full lingerie sets aren't your jam, there are plenty of other options available including oversized sweaters, body chains/harnesses, and even just implied nude with a sheet.

The idea of stripping down into lingerie (or sometimes less!) for a relative stranger would probably send most women into a nervous wreck - for good reason! For a lot of women, this is not something usual to do in their everyday life, and it can be difficult to get past our own insecurities about our bodies, especially after having children.

I'm here to tell you that this is completely normal - and totally expected! I'm not here to judge or make fun of you - because goodness knows I am far from perfect myself, especially after having birthed and breastfed three babies!

All of my clients are so unbelievably brave and trusting to let me work my magic, all while having a great chat and laughing lots. Because why do something like this, if it's not going to be fun?!

Do you know what the biggest reason I hear from women in regards to being hesitant to book a boudoir session?

"I have no idea how to pose, I think I will look silly"

You guys. Stop! If you're not a professional model - which I can tell you honestly, absolutely NONE of my clients are - of course you won't know how to pose! I'm here to tell you now - it's my job to teach you. I will physically move your arms and legs into position when needed, tell you where to look, chin up or down, when to point your toes, even how much to smile. I will even get down and do the pose first most of the time, so you can see exactly what I have in mind. And let me tell you - I cannot pose myself to save my life, haha. So at least you will get a good laugh out of my attempt first and know that you're definitely not the worst! 

Having said all of that, be assured that none of my clients have ever been bad at posing or taking direction. After the first few shots, you start to relax into it and even start to preempt what I'm about to suggest. At the end of the session, I always hear

"That was so much easier than I thought it was going to be" 
"You made it so easy and relaxed"
"I was so nervous before, but this was actually lots of fun!"

And I couldn't be happier to hear that! I am so grateful that my clients put their trust in me to create these intimate and sensual images, at a time where they often feel vulnerable and self-conscious.

Although I see a wide variety of clients coming through my studio for boudoir photos, did you know that the majority of my clients are mums? Women with no modelling experience, who lead regular lives, many with young children at home. But you would never guess that by looking at their completed photos...

I love making us "everyday women" look and feel beautiful, empowered, confident, sensual... a little time away from their regular, busy lives to focus just on themselves - and have these amazing, professional images to keep and remember forever. Reminding them that they are more than just mothers / partners / employees / homemakers, etc. Whether the photos are a gift for their significant other, or just for themselves - it's a visual reminder of their sensuality, however they choose to portray it.
